1970s Inspiration

I was looking for some Studio 54 pictures as inspiration for the 70s glam trend and came across these ones of the gorgeous jerry Hall among others which I thought I'd share. I love how fun and relaxed atmosphere appears from the pictures and jerry's fabulous long thick hair.

Oriental-Pear

The trick with this trend is don't take it too literally. Kimono, chopsticks and an obi belt isn't the best bet.

This dress is great for a pear shape as it skims the hips and thighs, defines the waist and has slight volume on top to help balance out the hips, creating the ideal hourglass figure.

For day: keeping it paired down and casual. Nude sandals help elongate and slim the leg.
Oversized bags are pratial AND will make your hips look smaller (little slimming trick there)
chunky watches are stop the outfit looking too girlie and are a fashion investment.

For nIght: Add chunky ewllerry for a glamorous evening feel.
Red lipstick is glamorous and an easy way to ring the outfit from day to night.
colourful accessories complement the dress (and are another key trend this season)

The Great Escape

just a quick blog about a music festival that's coming up which I thought was worth a mention. The Great Escape in brighton is a 3 day music festival in May showcasing new music, which my housemate told me about. Had a quick look at the line up and Katy b is playing which is enough for me, I love Katy . Anyway I put the we link below. What's great is it's pretty cheap and you don't have to go for the whole 3 days there's loads of ticket options depending on who you want to see. Plus brighton = beach and shopping opportunities!!

Body Type-Apple

Identified by:

  • Slim legs.
  • Weight is gained on the top half of the body, round the stomach.
  • Top half is larger than the bottom half.
Tips for dressing:

  • bootcut trousers again are the most flattering shape to wear as they create a balanced silhouette. Don't be tempted to wear baggy bottoms as this will just make you appear large all over.
  • Go for skirts which start from the waist and flow over the stomach to flatter it. To show off slim legs find a skirt which finishes at the knees. Skirts which are too short will just make you look out of proportion.
  • Apples normally have a lack of waist, use belts to create the illusion of one.
